In the 9th minute of the match River Plate got a corner. Riquelme Fútbol Club's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Eleuterio Efraim ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Eleuterio Efraim almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Riquelme Fútbol Club's Atila Edu did a great save. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Riquelme Fútbol Club's goalkeeper Atila Edu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 13 minutes Riquelme Fútbol Club's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Eleuterio Efraim who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Eleuterio Efraim got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Atila Edu quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 15th minute Eduardo Salvi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Genaro Quiroga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 18 minutes into the match, River Plate's goal looked a bit too open when Eduardo Salvi came free, but Genaro Quiroga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Romulo Casado struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Atila Edu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for River Plate. In the 21st minute Romulo Casado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Atila Edu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 30thth minute of the game Romulo Casado who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Riquelme Fútbol Club's Atila Edu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 34th minute, Mauricio Tiniebra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Romulo Casado might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Atila Edu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Romulo Casado ran back to his position shaking his head. 38 minutes into the game, Erik Albuquerque was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. River Plate's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Riquelme Fútbol Club the free kick. Erik Albuquerque kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Atila Edu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Romulo Casado's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. Romulo Casado's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Atila Edu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. In the 44th match minute, Riquelme Fútbol Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernardino Orlanda to maneuver through the defense. 45 minutes into the match, Romulo Casado notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Riquelme Fútbol Club's Atila Edu. Atila Edu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eduardo Salvi to make the kick off. The attack was good, but when Romulo Casado in the 56th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Eleuterio Efraim kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. 62 minutes into the match, Romulo Casado had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Atila Edu. Riquelme Fútbol Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Romulo Casado was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. 68 minutes into the match, River Plate's goal looked a bit too open when Severo Urbes came free, but Genaro Quiroga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Romulo Casado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Atila Edu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. River Plate made a substitution. Nemesio Azeari replaced Erik Albuquerque. River Plate's Godfredo Rioja was substituted for Eleuterio Efraim. Genaro Quiroga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severo Urbes in the 72nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, River Plate's Nicolás Otamendi got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eduardo Salvi in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Genaro Quiroga prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Romulo Casado came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the River Plate fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Romulo Casado couldn't finish the play. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Riquelme Fútbol Club's goalkeeper Atila Edu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. River Plate were awarded a corner in the 81th minute after Riquelme Fútbol Club's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Remigio Cugat took the corner. Remigio Cugat made a great header on River Plate's corner, it was just that Riquelme Fútbol Club's Atila Edu managed to reach the ball for a save. Atila Edu made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Romulo Casado sent off a good shot on target. 87 minutes into the match, Riquelme Fútbol Club's goalkeeper Atila Edu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Romulo Casado. In the 90th minute, Henrikh Vartanyan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. River Plate's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
