The referee ignored Club Atlético La Vía's protests and gave Santiago Transito a yellow card for diving instead. Gerardo Galo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michel Hedkvist in the 14th minute of play. The supporters of Quirós booed when Club Atlético La Vía was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Omar Sanchez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Quirós's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Club Atlético La Vía's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
