The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Auke Popken showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Vicente Ipar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilberto Fernandes in the 19th minute of play. Vicente Ipar made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when João Paulo Fantini sent off a good shot on target. Auke Popken showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eustacio Inko in the 30th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute Eustacio Inko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Auke Popken saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Islas FC fans' excitement grew in the 36th match minute when Islas FC's Eustacio Inko looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Benito Eleder struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Eustacio Inko made the kick off in the second half. Bernal FC's Auke Popken played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benito Eleder in the 52nd minute of play. Benito Eleder was slow to take the kick. During this time Islas FC's players had a chance to rest. Benito Eleder could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Auke Popken made a huge save. Osvaldo Valente charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Osvaldo Valente the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Osvaldo Valente hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Auke Popken stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eustacio Inko's shot from short distance in the 94th minute. Eustacio Inko scored 0-5 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Auke Popken, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match was over Islas FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Bernal FC throughout the match.
