The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Faustino Henric managed to get in a good position for a shot. El Verdolaga's supporters rose to their feet, but Faustino Henric was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Franco Barcaiztegui breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Nicanor Eladio fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ¨Los Matadores¨'s protests and gave Nicanor Eladio a yellow card for diving instead. Franco Barcaiztegui went to the wrong direction when Marcos Jusepe was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. In the 9thth minute of the game Marcos Jusepe who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ¨Los Matadores¨'s Franco Barcaiztegui was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Marcos Jusepe who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 12thth minute tested the skills of Franco Barcaiztegui when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 15 minutes, Marcos Jusepe took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Franco Barcaiztegui to make any attempt to save it. 18 minutes into the game, Rai Marques cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Cipriano Odilon was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 21st minute of the match, Faustino Henric got a very nice opportunity to score, but Franco Barcaiztegui was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 23rd minute of the match El Verdolaga got a corner. ¨Los Matadores¨'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jacobo Francesco ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to El Verdolaga's Honorato Nardo getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Cipriano Odilon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rai Marques, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. After having played for 28 minutes, Faustino Henric managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. El Verdolaga's supporters crossed their fingers, but Faustino Henric was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. El Verdolaga's Faustino Henric came free and shot a quick shot against goal 30 minutes in the game, fortunately Franco Barcaiztegui had problems saving as it came toward the left post. ¨Los Matadores¨'s Franco Barcaiztegui played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcos Jusepe in the 32nd minute of play. After some careless play in the ¨Los Matadores¨ defense, Marcos Jusepe kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Franco Barcaiztegui. The ¨Los Matadores¨ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Franco Barcaiztegui should have stopped the shot. If Faustino Henric had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Faustino Henric in the 39thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Franco Barcaiztegui, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 44th minute Honorato Nardo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Franco Barcaiztegui saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Franco Barcaiztegui showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcos Jusepe in the 46th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rai Marques to make the kick off. Clodoveo Efraim kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. 53 minutes into the match, El Verdolaga's Faustino Henric sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Franco Barcaiztegui narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 64 minutes, Hugo Hjelm mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ¨Los Matadores¨ and the El Verdolaga players grew even worse after the yellow card. Franco Barcaiztegui made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. 81 minutes into the match, Carlos Manilan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Franco Barcaiztegui. ¨Los Matadores¨'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Carlos Manilan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-1. El Verdolaga's Marcos Jusepe got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 93 minutes, Faustino Henric made it 8-1 with a short kick to the right side. ¨Los Matadores¨'s Franco Barcaiztegui tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. El Verdolaga's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
