The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Esteban José Andrada made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zhu Bin Yu in the 4th minute of play. Wrexham AFC's Remigio Marko quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Amador Romelio, made in the 10th minute of the game. Mauricio Jakobe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Esteban José Andrada took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zhu Bin Yu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 20th minute Xzavier Mir shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Esteban José Andrada saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Vélez Fútbol Club's zone, Zhu Bin Yu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Esteban José Andrada came out of the goal and Zhu Bin Yu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zhu Bin Yu in the 24th minute of play forced Vélez Fútbol Club's goalkeeper Esteban José Andrada to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Conrado Eneto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aivo Lepisk was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. Maximo Guillerme hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zhu Bin Yu in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. Wrexham AFC's Zhu Bin Yu got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Zhu Bin Yu made the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Chen Fei Zhen during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 65th minute, one of Wrexham AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Wrexham AFC. In the 67th minute there was a penalty for Vélez Fútbol Club. Damian Diaz stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Aivo Lepisk. 1-0. In the 74th minute, Amador Romelio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vélez Fútbol Club made a substitution. Braulio Oliverio replaced Reynaldo Cefero. After a rather tough play, Vélez Fútbol Club's Amador Romelio got a free kick in the 76th minute. A collision led to Vélez Fútbol Club getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Braulio Oliverio hit a great ball. With a little luck, Vélez Fútbol Club's Esteban José Andrada got control of the ball when Xzavier Mir tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Luis Mincho fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wrexham AFC's protests and gave Luis Mincho a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Wrexham AFC getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Luis Mincho hit a great ball. 82 minutes into the match, Wrexham AFC's Zhu Bin Yu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Esteban José Andrada narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 85th minute, Zhu Bin Yu fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Esteban José Andrada, passed just outside the right post. Zhu Bin Yu took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Esteban José Andrada. Esteban José Andrada dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 92nd minute, Ambrosio Lehen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Maximo Guillerme fell near the penalty area in the 97th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wrexham AFC's protests and gave Maximo Guillerme a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Vélez Fútbol Club booed when Wrexham AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maximo Guillerme didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vélez Fútbol Club were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
