Newell´s's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mariano Cordearo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The Miramar fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. After some careless play in the Newell´s defense, Klement Lesiecki kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cristobal Estavan. The Newell´s fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cristobal Estavan should have stopped the shot. In the 29th minute, Klement Lesiecki left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Miramar fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marciano Padro in the 36th minute of play forced Newell´s's goalkeeper Cristobal Estavan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristobal Estavan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Klement Lesiecki, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. The supporters of Newell´s booed when Miramar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Klement Lesiecki didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mattias Wallengren blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fausto Raymundo having to make a save. Cristobal Estavan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marciano Padro in the 45th minute of play. After the first half Miramar were leading 1-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mattias Wallengren was the one to do the kick off. After 52 played minutes Miramar got a freekick which was hit by Adolfo Bertin. 57 minutes into the game, Adolfo Bertin recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Cristobal Estavan. Adolfo Bertin showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-5. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marciano Padro got free with Cristobal Estavan in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 67th play minute Wilfredo Gabino came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Cristobal Estavan. 1-6. 69 minutes into the match, Newell´s's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Cordearo came free, but Cristobal Estavan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Miramar played a much better game than Newell´s and deserved their victory. The Newell´s players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
