The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Racing Club's Ivan Flor got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Glen Barr received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Francisco Raymond tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jorge Gorka was a little too slow when Sven-Edvin Dalgren got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 8th minute. The score was now 1-0. In the 12th minute, Sven-Edvin Dalgren ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jorge Gorka was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Jorge Gorka took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sven-Edvin Dalgren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 16th minute Racing Club were awarded a corner. Marco Nisio went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in Francisco Dolfo heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Jorge Gorka made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antonio Ubarna in the 18th minute of play. Jorge Gorka came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Racing Club's Sven-Edvin Dalgren. But to his dismay, Sven-Edvin Dalgren quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Jorge Gorka showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sven-Edvin Dalgren, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. In the 31st minute, Carolo Indalecio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Sven-Edvin Dalgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. Racing Club's Lucian Triboi managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Hélder Amaro in the 42 minute of the game. A collision led to Independiente.mf getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Gerardo Cefero hit a great ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sven-Edvin Dalgren made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sven-Edvin Dalgren in the 51st minute of play forced Independiente.mf's goalkeeper Jorge Gorka to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jorge Gorka showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antonio Ubarna, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Roberto Atauri during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The audience was convinced that Anísio Cosme's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jorge Gorka was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. If Sven-Edvin Dalgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jorge Gorka prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Independiente.mf's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sven-Edvin Dalgren was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Jorge Gorka made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven-Edvin Dalgren in the 74th minute of play. Independiente.mf's Jorge Gorka played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sven-Edvin Dalgren in the 76th minute of play. In the 77th match minute, Independiente.mf was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gerardo Cefero to maneuver through the defense. After taking down the ball on Racing Club's corner Marco Nisio fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jorge Gorka quite easily take care of the ball. Jorge Gorka made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven-Edvin Dalgren in the 91st minute of play. 92 minutes into the game, Anísio Cosme was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Racing Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Independiente.mf the free kick. After 93 played minutes Racing Club got a freekick which was hit by Anísio Cosme. In the 95th match minute, Independiente.mf was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gerardo Cefero to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Racing Club had won after a very even match.
