Remigio Savion showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Konstantinos Pirovolidis in the 11th minute of the match. After having played for 40 minutes, Luís Artime managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Esparta FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luís Artime was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Remigio Savion made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Artime in the 47th minute of play. The Barderos FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Esparta FC were winning 0-1.
If Luís Artime had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Remigio Savion took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Artime, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Luís Artime came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Esparta FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luís Artime couldn't finish the play. Antonio Lizer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hernan Lorencio having to interfere. 57 minutes into the match, Cosme Chesus had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hernan Lorencio. Esparta FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cosme Chesus was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Esparta FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Barderos FC the free kick. A collision led to Esparta FC getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Grigoris Ntountas hit a great ball. Maximino Dantae took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 74th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Hernan Lorencio. Esparta FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 76 minutes into the match, Esparta FC's goal looked a bit too open when Antonio Lizer came free, but Hernan Lorencio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Cosme Chesus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luís Artime got free with Remigio Savion in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Remigio Savion made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Ruperto Sedeni sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Artime in the 90th minute of play forced Barderos FC's goalkeeper Remigio Savion to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 94 minutes into the match, Luís Artime dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Remigio Savion, 1-2. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Esparta FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
