Severo Montrelle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Tomi in the 5th minute of play. 7 minutes into the match, Super Chechona FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ruperto Sedeni came free, but Severo Montrelle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 10 minutes into the match, Esparta FC's goal looked a bit too open when Modesto Guillen came free, but Hernan Lorencio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Esparta FC's Hernan Lorencio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Modesto Guillen in the 12th minute of play. Severo Montrelle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudio Senin in the 15th minute of play. Hernan Lorencio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Modesto Guillen, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. In the 32nd minute, Modesto Guillen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hernan Lorencio was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Hernan Lorencio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Modesto Guillen's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. After having played for 42 minutes, Modesto Guillen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Super Chechona FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Modesto Guillen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gustavo Urdin hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. The Esparta FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Super Chechona FC were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Modesto Guillen was the one to do the kick off. Esparta FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Efrain Trifol in the 56th minute. A nice corner shot did that Efrain Trifol got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Severo Montrelle quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. With an all-out effort, Super Chechona FC's Hernan Lorencio threw himself towards the right post 61 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Rogelio Tuste, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The crowd rose to their feet as Super Chechona FC's Modesto Guillen slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Hernan Lorencio. That made the score 0-2 after 63 minutes of play. In the 68th minute Luís Artime shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Severo Montrelle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Modesto Guillen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 76th minute Francisco Vincente shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Severo Montrelle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Modesto Guillen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Esparta FC's Hernan Lorencio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Modesto Guillen in the 78th minute of play. 80 minutes had been played when some careless play by Esparta FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Inocencio Froila was slow to take the kick. During this time Super Chechona FC's players had a chance to rest. After 80 played minutes Super Chechona FC got a freekick which was hit by Maximino Gizon. Esparta FC's Hernan Lorencio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Modesto Guillen in the 83rd minute of play. Esparta FC's Hernan Lorencio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Esparta FC from getting a goal against them. When Luís Artime came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Esparta FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luís Artime couldn't finish the play. In the 92nd minute, Modesto Guillen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Super Chechona FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
