Las Pulguitas Rugby's Generoso Freire played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ruperto Sedeni in the 12th minute of play. In the 12th minute Ruperto Sedeni shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Generoso Freire saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Las Pulguitas Rugby getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Octavio Quirze hit a great ball. The corner led Esparta FC's German Lalla to fire away a dangerous shot which Generoso Freire despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 40th minute Ruperto Sedeni shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Generoso Freire saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A sloppy throw-in by Victorino Lamberto in the 42nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Esparta FC's German Lalla. Generoso Freire made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Artime in the 43rd minute of play. Esparta FC's Konstantinos Pirovolidis quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Hipolito Gaitan, made in the 67th minute of the game. After 68 minutes, Luís Artime mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Esparta FC and the Las Pulguitas Rugby players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 68th minute, Luís Artime hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Generoso Freire stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luís Artime's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. 72 minutes into the match, Las Pulguitas Rugby's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Artime came free, but Generoso Freire reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bruno Sanchez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hernan Lorencio having to interfere. In the 89th match minute, Las Pulguitas Rugby was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hipolito Gaitan to maneuver through the defense. When Konstantinos Pirovolidis fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Esparta FC's protests and gave Konstantinos Pirovolidis a yellow card for diving instead. After 95 played minutes Esparta FC got a freekick which was hit by Konstantinos Pirovolidis. When Grigoris Ntountas fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Esparta FC's protests and gave Grigoris Ntountas a yellow card for diving instead. Hernan Lorencio had in the 97thth minute some difficulties stopping Gerardo Claude's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. When the match was over Esparta FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Las Pulguitas Rugby throughout the match.
