Antonio Montana made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. If Uriel Gorri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jimeno Calvino hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Antonio Montana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabriele Batistuta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gabriele Batistuta made a kick off. Menchu FC's Siro Osasun managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Jimeno Calvino in the 51 minute of the game. When Uriel Gorri came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Menchu FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Uriel Gorri couldn't finish the play. Ferneteros FC's Antonio Montana proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Ferneteros FC from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Menchu FC's Gabriele Batistuta slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Antonio Montana. That made the score 0-4 after 54 minutes of play. Ferneteros FC's Antonio Montana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabriele Batistuta in the 60th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sebastião Baiano in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Camilo Salvidor saved Menchu FC from getting behind. After 65 played minutes Ferneteros FC got a freekick which was hit by Damian Benat. Menchu FC's Herbert Pilarski was substituted for Uriel Gorri. After a rather tough play, Ferneteros FC's Damian Benat got a free kick in the 67th minute. Antonio Montana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gabriele Batistuta in the 73rd minute of the match. Gabriele Batistuta blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Antonio Montana having to make a save. Menchu FC were awarded a corner in the 79th minute after Ferneteros FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Armando Roland took the corner. In the 83rd minute of the match Armando Roland shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Antonio Montana showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Antonio Montana made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Gabriele Batistuta sent off a good shot on target. Antonio Montana stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gabriele Batistuta's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. Menchu FC played a much better game than Ferneteros FC and deserved their victory. The Ferneteros FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
