Formentera's Paulo Enmanuel got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 12th minute of the match Formentera got a corner. VELEZ's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Paulo Enmanuel ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Formentera's corner Paulo Enmanuel fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Eloy Mon quite easily take care of the ball. Astor Aragones showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Efrain Corderun, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. After having played for 15 minutes, Fausto Cresencio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Formentera's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fausto Cresencio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Efrain Corderun managed to get in a good position for a shot. VELEZ's supporters rose to their feet, but Efrain Corderun was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Astor Aragones breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 21 minutes into the game, Formentera's Paulo Enmanuel nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eloy Mon made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. 23 minutes into the game, Dionisio Beliran was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. VELEZ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Formentera the free kick. Astor Aragones dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1.

In the 52nd minute Paulo Enmanuel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eloy Mon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Astor Aragones showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Efrain Corderun in the 53rd minute of the match. After 54 played minutes Formentera got a freekick which was hit by Geronimo Silviano. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anacleto Tibalt in the 55th minute of play forced Formentera's goalkeeper Astor Aragones to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 56 minutes Formentera's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Rafael Etxekopar who took care of the corner kick. 62 minutes into the match, Formentera's Paulo Enmanuel sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eloy Mon narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Eloy Mon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Enmanuel in the 67th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Paulo Enmanuel in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eloy Mon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Paulo Enmanuel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eloy Mon was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. When the match clock showed 72 minutes, the score became 5-1 when Paulo Enmanuel sped through VELEZ's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Eloy Mon. After some careless play in the VELEZ defense, Paulo Enmanuel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eloy Mon. The VELEZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eloy Mon should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Enmanuel in the 81st minute of play forced VELEZ's goalkeeper Eloy Mon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Delmiro Viviano made in the 84th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Dionisio Beliran immediately put the ball in play. Eloy Mon didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Paulo Enmanuel went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 7-1 was the resulting score. Formentera's Amador Modestio managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Hilario Mikelats in the 88 minute of the game. After 91 minutes, Fausto Cresencio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Formentera and the VELEZ players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 91st match minute, Formentera was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fausto Cresencio to maneuver through the defense. Formentera's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
