In the 11th match minute, ACF Fiorentina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigoberto Rozarius to maneuver through the defense. After 11 played minutes, VELEZ's Efrain Corderun shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Claudinei Velloso came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in VELEZ reached it. Eloy Mon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Casimiro Cresconio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ariel Jesus got free with Eloy Mon in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eloy Mon made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Ariel Jesus sent off a good shot on target. Eloy Mon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bengt-Rune Fastesson in the 24th minute. Casimiro Cresconio scored 2-0 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eloy Mon, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of ACF Fiorentina booed when VELEZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anacleto Tibalt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eloy Mon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Casimiro Cresconio in the 45th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bengt-Rune Fastesson to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Ariel Jesus made a precise shot to the right of Eloy Mon. VELEZ's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. ACF Fiorentina made a substitution. Godofredo Suarez replaced Casimiro Cresconio. Bengt-Rune Fastesson took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eloy Mon. Eloy Mon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. ACF Fiorentina's Maximino Cabezon was substituted for Ariel Jesus. Eloy Mon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Federico Teofilio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 75 minutes into the match, VELEZ's goal looked a bit too open when Maximino Cabezon came free, but Eloy Mon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 75 minutes, Federico Teofilio made it 6-0 with a short kick to the right side. VELEZ's Eloy Mon tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 81st match minute, VELEZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emilio Quinten to maneuver through the defense. Eloy Mon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Horia Anisie, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. In the 83rd minute Federico Teofilio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eloy Mon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximino Cabezon in the 89th minute of play forced VELEZ's goalkeeper Eloy Mon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Godofredo Suarez took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eloy Mon. Eloy Mon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 8-0. There was no doubt that ACF Fiorentina were the better team. ACF Fiorentina's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
