Spectators: 144 (Terracing: 109, Seating: 33, VIP seats: 2) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Roman Garci took the kick off in the first half of the match. After 2 played minutes Lagunillas FC got a freekick which was hit by Fernan Taurino. Thanks to some nice moves Tomáš Mašlej could shoot a difficult shot in the 5th minute, which Denis Inautzi however easily saved by the left post. When Newell´s's Roman Garci in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lagunillas FC's goalie prevented a goal. If Andrej Golota had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wlodzimierz Dziatkowicz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roman Garci, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, Roman Garci put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Wlodzimierz Dziatkowicz. A collision led to Newell´s getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Andrej Golota hit a great ball. Newell´s's Roman Garci got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 27 minutes into the match, Lagunillas FC's goal looked a bit too open when Roman Garci came free, but Wlodzimierz Dziatkowicz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Lagunillas FC getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Murvet Tadić hit a great ball. When Newell´s's Roman Garci in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lagunillas FC's goalie prevented a goal. Murvet Tadić sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Roman Garci struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Wlodzimierz Dziatkowicz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Newell´s. After 34 played minutes Lagunillas FC got a freekick which was hit by Tomáš Mašlej. After 36 minutes, Roman Garci made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Lagunillas FC's Wlodzimierz Dziatkowicz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Enzo Haritz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 41 minutes into the game, Murvet Tadić was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lagunillas FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Newell´s the free kick. In the 41st match minute, Lagunillas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Murvet Tadić to maneuver through the defense. After the first half Newell´s were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fernan Taurino to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 50th minute, Andrej Golota got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Enzo Haritz came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Newell´s fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Enzo Haritz couldn't finish the play. In the 53rd minute Murvet Tadić shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denis Inautzi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Newell´s's Marcos Giraldo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Wlodzimierz Dziatkowicz. That made the score 0-3 after 55 minutes of play. Newell´s's Alejandro Sabella was substituted for Jose Montez. In the 63rd minute Newell´s were awarded a corner. Marcos Giraldo went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Marcos Giraldo almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Lagunillas FC's Wlodzimierz Dziatkowicz did a great save. Wlodzimierz Dziatkowicz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Roman Garci in the 65th minute. If Roman Garci had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 69 minutes into the match, Fermin Etxeberri had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Wlodzimierz Dziatkowicz. Lagunillas FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fermin Etxeberri was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. Fermin Etxeberri struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Wlodzimierz Dziatkowicz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Newell´s. In the 84th minute, Fermin Etxeberri got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 86 minutes into the game, Newell´s's Fermin Etxeberri nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wlodzimierz Dziatkowicz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-7. If Roman Garci had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fermin Etxeberri received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Wlodzimierz Dziatkowicz came out and tried to block the shot, but Fermin Etxeberri slotted it home off the left post making it 0-8 in the 92nd minute. Denis Inautzi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernan Taurino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
