Spectators: 144 (Terracing: 109, Seating: 33, VIP seats: 2) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Fermin Etxeberri started the match with the kick off. Leo Franco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Enzo Haritz, who was totally free with the ball in the 2nd minute. In the 7th minute, Fermin Etxeberri left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Newell´s fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. After some careless play in the C.A. BOCA JUNIORS defense, Fermin Etxeberri kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leo Franco. The C.A. BOCA JUNIORS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leo Franco should have stopped the shot. Denis Inautzi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baltasar Baumar in the 15th minute of the match. In the 16th match minute, C.A. BOCA JUNIORS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jimmy Rydelius to maneuver through the defense. In the 17th minute, Alfredo Gaufred hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leo Franco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcos Giraldo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Fermin Etxeberri's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leo Franco was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. In the 29thth minute of the game Fermin Etxeberri who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but C.A. BOCA JUNIORS's Leo Franco was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Leo Franco stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fermin Etxeberri's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. Denis Inautzi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baltasar Baumar in the 33rd minute of play. C.A. BOCA JUNIORS's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Domingo Blai in the 34th minute. A nice corner shot did that Domingo Blai got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Denis Inautzi quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When Newell´s's Fermin Etxeberri in the 36th minute got a chance for a shot 36th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye C.A. BOCA JUNIORS's Leo Franco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fermin Etxeberri in the 37th minute of play. After 38 minutes C.A. BOCA JUNIORS's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Marcos Giraldo who took care of the corner kick. At last the ball reached Jose Montez at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of C.A. BOCA JUNIORS. 0-5. Boruc Gajewski kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. In the 44th minute Fermin Etxeberri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leo Franco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 46 minutes, Marcos Giraldo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Newell´s's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcos Giraldo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match clock showed 47 minutes, the score became 0-6 when Fermin Etxeberri sped through C.A. BOCA JUNIORS's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Leo Franco. Disappointed in the 0-6 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Baltasar Baumar was the one to do the kick off. Leo Franco made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fermin Etxeberri in the 55th minute. In the 56thth minute of the game Fermin Etxeberri who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but C.A. BOCA JUNIORS's Leo Franco was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 57th minute, Andrej Golota hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Newell´s made a substitution. Alejandro Sabella replaced Jose Montez. After 59 played minutes Newell´s got a freekick which was hit by Andrej Golota. Newell´s's Denis Inautzi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Domingo Blai in the 60th minute of play. Andrej Golota sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 64 minutes, Andrej Golota put it in 0-7 from a short distance just to the right of Leo Franco. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baltasar Baumar in the 66th minute of play forced Newell´s's goalkeeper Denis Inautzi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leo Franco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fermin Etxeberri, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Fermin Etxeberri who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 69thth minute tested the skills of Leo Franco when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 73 minutes in the game, Andrej Golota dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cleto Laffitte in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leo Franco saved C.A. BOCA JUNIORS from getting behind. After 83 minutes, Cleto Laffitte mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Newell´s and the C.A. BOCA JUNIORS players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Newell´s's Cleto Laffitte got a free kick in the 83rd minute. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind C.A. BOCA JUNIORS's goalkeeper Leo Franco, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. C.A. BOCA JUNIORS's Leo Franco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save C.A. BOCA JUNIORS from getting a goal against them. Baldomiro Pierres hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Leo Franco made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Fermin Etxeberri sent off a good shot on target. A very nice done corner allowed Bohuslav Sedlařík to score against Leo Franco in C.A. BOCA JUNIORS's goal. 0-9 after 92 minutes. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marcos Giraldo during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 95 played minutes Newell´s got a freekick which was hit by Marcos Giraldo. Newell´s played a much better game than C.A. BOCA JUNIORS and deserved their victory. The C.A. BOCA JUNIORS players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
