Nacho Gonzalez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximino Mazuste in the 6th minute of play. Paolo Rossi might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Damaso Roldanillo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Paolo Rossi ran back to his position shaking his head. Damaso Roldanillo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paolo Rossi in the 8th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Paolo Rossi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Damaso Roldanillo was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. Damaso Roldanillo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paolo Rossi in the 10th minute of the match. Damaso Roldanillo came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by La Gallardeta's Paolo Rossi. But to his dismay, Paolo Rossi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. When the match had gone on for 14 minutes, Paolo Rossi put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Damaso Roldanillo. Maximino Mazuste kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. 28 minutes into the match, Paolo Rossi notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of San Lorenzo's Damaso Roldanillo. Damaso Roldanillo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximino Mazuste in the 33rd minute of play forced La Gallardeta's goalkeeper Nacho Gonzalez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 34 minutes had been played when some careless play by La Gallardeta's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Mabrouk Dolar was slow to take the kick. During this time San Lorenzo's players had a chance to rest. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Salvador Dalmai got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 1-3. 35 minutes into the match. Rafael Haimar scored 1-4 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Damaso Roldanillo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 44th minute Paolo Rossi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Damaso Roldanillo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Paolo Rossi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 1-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Maximino Mazuste was the one to do the kick off. Damaso Roldanillo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rafael Haimar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paolo Rossi in the 54th minute of play forced San Lorenzo's goalkeeper Damaso Roldanillo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 55 played minutes San Lorenzo got a freekick which was hit by Lars Hansen. Nacho Gonzalez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Federico Chan in the 58th minute of play. San Lorenzo's Damaso Roldanillo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paolo Rossi in the 62nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, San Lorenzo's Cleto Cristofol got a free kick in the 64th minute. In the 66th match minute, San Lorenzo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ezequiel Nesor to maneuver through the defense. Rafael Haimar struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Damaso Roldanillo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for La Gallardeta. La Gallardeta made a substitution. Esteban Leizarraga replaced Anacleto Primo. La Gallardeta's Fernando Dantae was substituted for Paolo Rossi. Damaso Roldanillo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafael Haimar in the 75th minute of the match. Maximino Mazuste kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. The referee felt a red card was in order, 79 minutes into the game, when Bernie Strauss put in a rough tackle. 79 minutes into the game, one of San Lorenzo:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Damaso Roldanillo was out of position in the 83 minute of play, and Fernando Dantae capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Fernando Dantae really showed his touch with that goal: 1-5. The supporters of San Lorenzo booed when La Gallardeta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kemalettin Keskiner didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in San Lorenzo's zone, Rafael Haimar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Damaso Roldanillo came out of the goal and Rafael Haimar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Esteban Leizarraga hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. Damaso Roldanillo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernando Dantae in the 100th minute of play. La Gallardeta were awarded a corner in the 102th minute after San Lorenzo's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Rafael Haimar took the corner. The corner ended in Rafael Haimar almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but San Lorenzo's Damaso Roldanillo did a great save. When the final whistle sounded La Gallardeta left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than San Lorenzo.
