The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Teodosio Ascencio might have been able to make a better finish in the 4th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Placido Matro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Teodosio Ascencio ran back to his position shaking his head. Hermengildo Aimar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Yuriy Babushkin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Deportivo Messina getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Salvador Iztal hit a great ball. ATILA's Placido Matro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hector Jerardo in the 14th minute of play. Placido Matro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Domingo Jakue in the 15th minute of the match. In the 17th minute Hector Jerardo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Placido Matro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, Hector Jerardo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Placido Matro. ATILA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hector Jerardo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. After 20 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for ATILA! ATILA:s Placido Matro showed great skill when he stopped Jonathan Guillerme:s penalty. Deportivo Messina were awarded a corner in the 22th minute after ATILA's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Paulino Vellito took the corner. The corner ended in Hector Jerardo almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but ATILA's Placido Matro did a great save. Hector Jerardo was extremely unlucky when he, in the 27th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. 31 minutes into the match, Deportivo Messina's goal looked a bit too open when Genadi Kotrulev came free, but Yuriy Babushkin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 33 minutes of play, Deportivo Messina's Hector Jerardo made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Placido Matro was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Hermengildo Aimar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hector Jerardo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. ATILA's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Genadi Kotrulev in the 50th minute. After taking down the ball on ATILA's corner Genadi Kotrulev fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Yuriy Babushkin quite easily take care of the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hector Jerardo to strike the kick off in the second half. Yuriy Babushkin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hermengildo Aimar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 55 minutes into the game, Hector Jerardo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0.
