Tom Stenmans short, quick shot in the 15thth minute got Anastasio Brais to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Through an outstanding action, after 22 minutes, Anastasio Brais successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Garðar Jóhannsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abelardo Giro having to interfere. If Oscar Ado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anastasio Brais stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tom Stenman's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. Abelardo Giro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mauro Boselli, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Abelardo Giro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Garðar Jóhannsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tom Stenman in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. Abelardo Giro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tom Stenman stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of DIABLOS ROJOS FC booed when Belgrano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacinto Franco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Garðar Jóhannsson might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Abelardo Giro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out.
