The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cecilio Tristan struck a weak shot in the 2nd minute. In the last second Fabio Betadur throw himself and got hold of the ball when Cecilio Tristan in the 10thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. In the 11th minute of the match Abuba Akotonon FC got a corner. LA DEL MONO's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Genaro Elivareo ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of LA DEL MONO's goalie and right to Emanuel Aurre. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. LA DEL MONO's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Abuba Akotonon FC's Hugo Orlando Gatti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cosme Oalo in the 16th minute of play. Genaro Elivareo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Fabio Betadur tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Genaro Elivareo came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Abuba Akotonon FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Genaro Elivareo couldn't finish the play. Genaro Elivareo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Fabio Betadur tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fabio Betadur made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vânderson Barbosa in the 30th minute of play. Fabio Betadur didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Abuba Akotonon FC's Vânderson Barbosa shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-0 in the ordered_time% minute. Octavio Ospetsu kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
