Caetano Monteiro was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Iago Aspas showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 5 minute of play. In the 16th match minute, Icoara Football Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matías Ceresso to maneuver through the defense. 21 minutes into the match, Icoara Football Club's Thiago Zonta sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sid Hart narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Icoara Football Club booed when Cosmos Soccer Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iago Aspas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Caetano Monteiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patrick Fontenot in the 27th minute of the match. Matías Ceresso kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. After 29 played minutes Icoara Football Club got a freekick which was hit by Matías Ceresso. With a little luck, Icoara Football Club's Caetano Monteiro got control of the ball when Harvey Flynn tried to sneak it across the goal line. Valdo Lima hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. 34 minutes into the game, Iago Aspas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Caetano Monteiro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Icoara Football Club's Caetano Monteiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iago Aspas in the 37th minute of play. Caetano Monteiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrick Fontenot in the 43rd minute of play. In the 46th minute, Cosmos Soccer Club's Iago Aspas dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 7-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 7-0.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dan Gheară was the one to do the kick off. The Cosmos Soccer Club fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 9-0. Caetano Monteiro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Patrick Fontenot went, in the 66th minute, to the upper right corner, 10-0 was the resulting score. Icoara Football Club's Caetano Monteiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iago Aspas in the 70th minute of play. In the 71st minute, Iago Aspas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Caetano Monteiro was frozen by the shot and now it was 11-0. In the 75th minute, Iago Aspas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cosmos Soccer Club fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 12-0. 78 minutes into the match, Icoara Football Club's goal looked a bit too open when Dan Gheară came free, but Caetano Monteiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 79 minutes into the match, Marcus Rush had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Caetano Monteiro. Icoara Football Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marcus Rush was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 13-0. Cosmos Soccer Club's Dan Gheară got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Caetano Monteiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emanuel Novak, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. In the 86th minute Dan Gheară shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Caetano Monteiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Caetano Monteiro came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Cosmos Soccer Club's Iago Aspas. But to his dismay, Iago Aspas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 14-0. In the 92nd minute, Iago Aspas made a precise shot to the right of Caetano Monteiro. Icoara Football Club's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 15-0. Cosmos Soccer Club walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
