Adhemar Lucas hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. In the 4th minute of the match Vágner Sarmento sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Zé Augusto Peixoto skillfully saved the ball. Dinei Silveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hélder Trigo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Dráusio das Neves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 13 minutes, Ian Loureiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vascogoianiense FC and the Batalhão do Peçanha players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ian Loureiro hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Dinei Silveira hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. In the 20th minute Renatinho Catarinense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Augusto Peixoto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Dinei Silveira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vascogoianiense FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dinei Silveira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dráusio das Neves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 26 minutes into the match, Renatinho Catarinense had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zé Augusto Peixoto. Vascogoianiense FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Renatinho Catarinense was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 41st match minute, Batalhão do Peçanha was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isaltino Mesquita to maneuver through the defense. Hélder Trigo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Dráusio das Neves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hélder Trigo might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dráusio das Neves. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hélder Trigo ran back to his position shaking his head. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hélder Trigo to strike the kick off in the second half. When Renatinho Catarinense fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Batalhão do Peçanha's protests and gave Renatinho Catarinense a yellow card for diving instead. In the 52nd minute Hélder Trigo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dráusio das Neves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Renatinho Catarinense kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Zé Augusto Peixoto. That made the score 0-2 in the 54 minute of play. Vascogoianiense FC's Zé Augusto Peixoto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Vascogoianiense FC from getting a goal against them. Zé Augusto Peixoto didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 60th minute, which inside left pole to 0-3. Zé Augusto Peixoto was a little too slow when Renatinho Catarinense got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 64th minute. The score was now 0-4. After 72 minutes, Válter Martins mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vascogoianiense FC and the Batalhão do Peçanha players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Vascogoianiense FC getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Válter Martins hit a great ball. With a little luck, Vascogoianiense FC's Zé Augusto Peixoto got control of the ball when Carlos Trancoso tried to sneak it across the goal line. The goalkeeper, Zé Augusto Peixoto, was totally fooled by Batalhão do Peçanha's Vágner Sarmento, who 77 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 81st match minute, Batalhão do Peçanha was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sérgio Trancoso to maneuver through the defense. After 83 played minutes Batalhão do Peçanha got a freekick which was hit by Isaltino Mesquita. Batalhão do Peçanha's Dráusio das Neves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sílvio Luiz Brasil in the 87th minute of play. Vascogoianiense FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 91st minute, when Renatinho Catarinense scored to the left of an out of position Zé Augusto Peixoto, making the score, 0-6. Zé Augusto Peixoto came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Batalhão do Peçanha's Renatinho Catarinense. But to his dismay, Renatinho Catarinense quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-7. Batalhão do Peçanha's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
