Jailson Cearense ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Antonio Gol almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Lauro Varela did a great save. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Lauro Varela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edvaldo Coelho in the 16th minute of play. Joel Lopes kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Agnaldo Vargas struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Miguel Pereira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nova Iguaçu MZFC. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Renato Souza in the 35th minute of play forced ATHLETICO PRaiano's goalkeeper Miguel Pereira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lauro Varela came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by ATHLETICO PRaiano's Antonio Gol. But to his dismay, Antonio Gol quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After 41 played minutes, Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Dudu Queiroz shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Miguel Pereira came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Nova Iguaçu MZFC reached it. Miguel Pereira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Diego Cerezo went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score.

Miguel Pereira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diego Cerezo in the 52nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, ATHLETICO PRaiano's Jailson Cearense got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Dudu Queiroz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 59th minute, Jailson Cearense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joel Lopes kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Edvaldo Coelho took the ball and in the 69 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lauro Varela. Lauro Varela dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Miguel Pereira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anselmo Batista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. ATHLETICO PRaiano's Patrick Quintal got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Miguel Pereira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Miguel Pereira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diego Cerezo, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. In the 94th match minute, ATHLETICO PRaiano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sílvio Pires to maneuver through the defense. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
