After 6 minutes of play, Cosa nostra Lyon's Uwe Birmes made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Baldemar España was left in no man's land by his defense there! April 25 SC's Baldemar España played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Junior Quintana in the 11th minute of play. In the 15th minute, Félicien Boidin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cosa nostra Lyon fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Uwe Birmes struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Baldemar España didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cosa nostra Lyon. Faudel Dagorne went to the cornerflag to take it. Félicien Boidin was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. In the 27th minute, Junior Quintana got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Junior Quintana's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Baldemar España was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Junior Quintana managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cosa nostra Lyon's supporters rose to their feet, but Junior Quintana was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Baldemar España breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 35th minute Tim Ménet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baldemar España saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Baldemar España made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tim Ménet in the 36th minute of play. 38 minutes into the game, Cosa nostra Lyon's Félicien Boidin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Baldemar España made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. If Félicien Boidin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. After the first half Cosa nostra Lyon were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Cosa nostra Lyon made a substitution. Horia Şuplăcan replaced Uwe Birmes. The throw-in from Faudel Dagorne in the 70th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by April 25 SC's Benigno Mayol.
