When Martin Retana came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the INGOBERNABLE F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Martin Retana couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aníbal Sá got free with Renán Rocafort in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Retana in the 38th minute of play forced Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's goalkeeper Haroldo Dante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 46 minutes into the match, INGOBERNABLE F.C's goalkeeper Renán Rocafort had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aníbal Sá. After the first half INGOBERNABLE F.C were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Renán Rocafort made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nilmar de Moraes in the 51st minute of play. Renán Rocafort took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nilmar de Moraes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 54 played minutes Clube Atl. INGOBERNABLE F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aníbal Sá was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Varban Pavlikyanov in the 65th minute of play forced INGOBERNABLE F.C's goalkeeper Renán Rocafort to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 65 minutes, Varban Pavlikyanov made it 3-2 with a short kick to the right side. INGOBERNABLE F.C's Renán Rocafort tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Armando Sando took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Haroldo Dante. The INGOBERNABLE F.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Renán Rocafort should have stopped the shot. In the 75th minute, David Lima ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Renán Rocafort was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-3. In the 81st minute, Armando Sando made a precise shot to the right of Haroldo Dante. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-4. Renán Rocafort showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tarcisio Couto, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Haroldo Dante proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Clube Atl. Taquaritinga from getting a goal against them. In the 92nd minute David Lima shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Renán Rocafort saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
