Humberto Severo went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led MINEIROS's Hao Zhan Ping to fire away a dangerous shot which Romeo Gaxan despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Mário Maradona's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Romeo Gaxan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. Laércio Ceresso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romeo Gaxan having to interfere. Mário Maradona blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Romeo Gaxan having to make a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mário Maradona in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Romeo Gaxan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mário Maradona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Romeo Gaxan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mário Maradona, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Guangzhou Dark Horse F.C's Romeo Gaxan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hao Zhan Ping in the 46th minute of play. Mário Maradona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Romeo Gaxan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eliseo Vidales stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice moves Mário Maradona could shoot a difficult shot in the 53rd minute, which Romeo Gaxan however easily saved by the left post. Guangzhou Dark Horse F.C's Romeo Gaxan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mário Maradona in the 55th minute of play. In the 57th minute MINEIROS were awarded a corner. Humberto Severo went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Guangzhou Dark Horse F.C's goalie and right to Ricardo Custódio. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Guangzhou Dark Horse F.C's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. 59 minutes into the match, Guangzhou Dark Horse F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Mário Maradona came free, but Romeo Gaxan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 59th minute, Mário Maradona ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Romeo Gaxan was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseo Vidales in the 69th minute of play forced MINEIROS's goalkeeper Thommy Jadis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. MINEIROS made a substitution. Bon Čáp replaced Mário Maradona. The supporters of MINEIROS booed when Guangzhou Dark Horse F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. 汪军乐 didn't get a good kick on the ball. Romeo Gaxan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bon Čáp in the 76th minute of play. A throw-in in the 83rd minute of the game was made by 刘耀云 with 方常珂 as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. In the 87th minute Bon Čáp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romeo Gaxan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Roberto Cunha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. MINEIROS walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
