Piotrków Trybunalski's Francisco Godoy got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Harold Gielen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlinhos Freitas having to interfere. Francisco Godoy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Lars Setz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 10 minutes, Tolek Kornatowski made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Piotrków Trybunalski's Carlinhos Freitas tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 15th match minute, Piotrków Trybunalski was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastian Jago to maneuver through the defense. The throw-in from Fryderyk Niewiadomski in the 36th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Denti della Vecchia's Jost Egli. Carlinhos Freitas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kurtuluş Sadir, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. After 38 minutes of play, Denti della Vecchia's Kurtuluş Sadir made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Carlinhos Freitas was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.
If Carmine Polmone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Denti della Vecchia eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
