Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cai Inestrosa to make the kick off. Florian Marciewicz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nurkan Salah in the 50th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Cai Inestrosa kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Florian Marciewicz. That made the score 1-4 in the 52 minute of play. Nils-Erik Askelöf showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kajetan Duszenski, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Florian Marciewicz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nurkan Salah, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Southern Thrashers booed when GÓRNIK ZABRZE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Unax Marcos didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 64th minute of the match Southern Thrashers got a corner. GÓRNIK ZABRZE's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. The corner ended in Nurkan Salah almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but GÓRNIK ZABRZE's Florian Marciewicz did a great save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fabian Mielak in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nils-Erik Askelöf prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 70th minute Nurkan Salah shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Florian Marciewicz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, GÓRNIK ZABRZE's Przemyslaw Del Piero got a free kick in the 70th minute. 74 minutes into the match, Przemyslaw Del Piero had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nils-Erik Askelöf. The referee showed Unax Marcos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Southern Thrashers's Battle Minne got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Southern Thrashers supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Southern Thrashers would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
