In the 2nd match minute, Æsir Ásgarðr was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Helgi Jónsson to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Arnoldo Loco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Villa Ballester FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Arnoldo Loco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eldór Hreiðarsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Saverio Otsoa in the 5th minute of play forced Æsir Ásgarðr's goalkeeper Eldór Hreiðarsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 10 minutes into the game, Æsir Ásgarðr's Álfgeir Hannibalsson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Freddy Markel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Æsir Ásgarðr's Eldór Hreiðarsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sylwester Domaradzki in the 16th minute of play. Freddy Markel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Álfgeir Hannibalsson in the 17th minute of play. Eldór Hreiðarsson came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Villa Ballester FC's Arnoldo Loco. But to his dismay, Arnoldo Loco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Eldór Hreiðarsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arnoldo Loco, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. If Kristján Ófeigsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lárus Arnleifsson charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lárus Arnleifsson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Villa Ballester FC booed when Æsir Ásgarðr was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lárus Arnleifsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 45th minute, Sylwester Domaradzki hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 46 minutes into the match, Sylwester Domaradzki had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eldór Hreiðarsson. Æsir Ásgarðr's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sylwester Domaradzki was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sylwester Domaradzki was the one to do the kick off. Helgi Jónsson took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Freddy Markel. Freddy Markel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. Freddy Markel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Guðvin Skúlason's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. In the 56th minute Guðvin Skúlason shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Freddy Markel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 57 played minutes Villa Ballester FC got a freekick which was hit by Sergio Beltza. In the 58th minute of the match Marel Ingimundarson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Freddy Markel showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 60th minute, Kristján Ófeigsson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Æsir Ásgarðr fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-2. Eldór Hreiðarsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sylwester Domaradzki, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. In the 65th minute of the match Villa Ballester FC got a corner. Æsir Ásgarðr's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Roque Mannuel ran over to the corner to take the kick. Roque Mannuel made a great header on Villa Ballester FC's corner, it was just that Æsir Ásgarðr's Eldór Hreiðarsson managed to reach the ball for a save. If Guðvin Skúlason had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 73 minutes into the game, Sylwester Domaradzki cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-4. Eldór Hreiðarsson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 76 minutes into the game, Guðvin Skúlason cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-4. Freddy Markel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 80 played minutes Villa Ballester FC got a freekick which was hit by Sergio Beltza. Freddy Markel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Álfgeir Hannibalsson in the 81st minute of play. 87 minutes into the game, Álfgeir Hannibalsson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-4. Freddy Markel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 90 minutes into the game, Guðvin Skúlason cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-4. Freddy Markel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Guðvin Skúlason scored 8-4 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Freddy Markel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Æsir Ásgarðr's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
