Giorgian De Arrascaeta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henning Berglund having to interfere. In the 21st minute, Rodney Huston hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wyoming Cowboys's Henning Berglund played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marin Luican in the 22nd minute of play. When the match had gone on for 25 minutes, Sixto Gurutz put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Henning Berglund. Marin Luican's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Henning Berglund read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. The tension between the Real Racing Club and the Wyoming Cowboys players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Real Racing Club getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Du hit a great ball. 37 minutes into the match, Real Racing Club's goal looked a bit too open when Mats McNamara came free, but Gao Fei reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sixto Gurutz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gao Fei took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodney Huston, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marin Luican's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Henning Berglund read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 48th minute of play. After the first half Real Racing Club were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Battle Bundy made in the 55th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Edwin McNamara however managed to control. In the 57th match minute, Wyoming Cowboys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodney Huston to maneuver through the defense. Marin Luican's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Henning Berglund read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. If Giorgian De Arrascaeta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wyoming Cowboys's Henning Berglund proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Wyoming Cowboys from getting a goal against them. Gao Fei showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edwin McNamara in the 76th minute of the match. The supporters of Wyoming Cowboys booed when Real Racing Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Du didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nils McNamara in the 97th minute of play forced Real Racing Club's goalkeeper Gao Fei to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Real Racing Club supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Real Racing Club would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
