SS SuperSonics's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Zdzislaw Dembowski in the 27th minute. In the 31st minute of the match Coelho FC got a corner. SS SuperSonics's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mathias Mazza ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 32nd minute of the match, Eriberto Linhares tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jerzy Dudek saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Jerzy Dudek made an important save on a dangerous shot by Valdo Peres in the 36th minute. Coelho FC's Paulo Renato Novaes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wincenty Chlebek in the 38th minute of play. Ivo Terra hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Paulo Renato Novaes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wincenty Chlebek, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. In the 47th minute Wincenty Chlebek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Renato Novaes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Miguel Almiron made a kick off. Jerzy Dudek dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Paulo Renato Novaes stood somewhat misplaced when Wincenty Chlebek came free in front of goal and shot 2-1 to the left of him in the 54 minute. The supporters of SS SuperSonics booed when Coelho FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geovânio Cabral didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wincenty Chlebek scored 2-2 in the 58th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Paulo Renato Novaes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Wincenty Chlebek came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the SS SuperSonics fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wincenty Chlebek couldn't finish the play. Paulo Renato Novaes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wincenty Chlebek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Coelho FC's Paulo Renato Novaes got control of the ball when Miguel Almiron tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wincenty Chlebek in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paulo Renato Novaes saved Coelho FC from getting behind. When Wincenty Chlebek, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 80 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Paulo Renato Novaes was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. The throw-in from Geovânio Cabral in the 82nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by SS SuperSonics's Filip Jandryca. In the 83rd minute Wincenty Chlebek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Renato Novaes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zdzislaw Dembowski charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zdzislaw Dembowski the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.
