The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Witomir Pisarczyk in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paulo Leão saved Misericordia EC from getting behind. After 4 minutes, Witomir Pisarczyk made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Misericordia EC's Paulo Leão tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 7th minute Valdomiro Luz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pontus Nordström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zico Maravilha during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 9 played minutes Misericordia EC got a freekick which was hit by Zico Maravilha. Paulo Leão acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 10th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Eduardo De Francesco.
