Belmiro Negri made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Ramiro Enrique sent off a good shot on target. MALAIA FDFDF's defense didn't have a chance, in the 15th minute, when Ramiro Enrique scored to the left of an out of position Belmiro Negri, making the score, 1-0. 18 minutes into the match, lןןl La Coconeta's goal looked a bit too open when Antoni Basaik came free, but Ediberto Righi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 20 minutes in the game Duda de Queirós did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Carlos Vianna. Ramiro Enrique could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Belmiro Negri made a huge save. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Ramiro Enrique took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Belmiro Negri to make any attempt to save it. Ediberto Righi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antoni Basaik in the 31st minute of play. When the match clock showed 36 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Antoni Basaik sped through lןןl La Coconeta's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ediberto Righi. Ramiro Enrique's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Belmiro Negri read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. Lubomír Meszároš received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Ediberto Righi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ramiro Enrique was the one to do the kick off. Javier Zanetti ran over to the corner to take the kick. The supporters of MALAIA FDFDF booed when lןןl La Coconeta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luciano Lollo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ediberto Righi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lubomír Meszároš, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 83 minutes into the game, Josemir Lujambio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Belmiro Negri was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Josemir Lujambio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the MALAIA FDFDF defense, Josemir Lujambio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Belmiro Negri. The MALAIA FDFDF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Belmiro Negri should have stopped the shot.
