After the first half Beto Martini MZ 20 years were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Amancio Mitxel made the kick off in the second half. Angel Neto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niki Lauda in the 51st minute of play. In the 55th minute, Elano Severo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcial Lordi was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Niki Lauda in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Angel Neto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The RIVER fans' excitement grew in the 59th match minute when RIVER's Niki Lauda looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Niki Lauda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Marcial Lordi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Genílson Peixoto, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute.
