Lambis Kastanas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Li Kuan Hong, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Markos Seremetidis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lambis Kastanas was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Markos Seremetidis in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. The AFC Ajax fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. In the 51st minute Michelangelo Merganiotis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lambis Kastanas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 52nd minute, Michelangelo Merganiotis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lambis Kastanas was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Lambis Kastanas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Markos Seremetidis's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. AFC Ajax's Aureo Morera was substituted for Li Kuan Hong.
