In the 4th minute, Verner Ståhlberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Linus Blomqvist fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Villa Gordiani's protests and gave Linus Blomqvist a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Villa Gordiani getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Linus Blomqvist hit a great ball. Iker Casillas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kurt Holmgren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Stockholm IF's goalkeeper Qin Ting Peng, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Verner Ståhlberg in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Iker Casillas saved Villa Gordiani from getting behind. Iker Casillas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kurt Holmgren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 22nd minute of the match Stockholm IF got a corner. Villa Gordiani's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Krzysztof Bobrowski ran over to the corner to take the kick. If Kurt Holmgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 28th minute Verner Ståhlberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iker Casillas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Iker Casillas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Verner Ståhlberg in the 32nd minute of the match. After having played for 45 minutes, Verner Ståhlberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Stockholm IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Verner Ståhlberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Franco Cacciatore made a kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Villa Gordiani's goalkeeper Iker Casillas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Verner Ståhlberg. Verner Ståhlberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Iker Casillas made a huge save. Diego Coccolone tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Iker Casillas. An unnecessary self made goal, 0-2 in the 54th minute. Otang Irawan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Qin Ting Peng showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabrizio Canzano in the 73rd minute of the match. Linus Blomqvist hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Verner Ståhlberg got free with Iker Casillas in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 79 minutes into the match, Fabrizio Canzano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Qin Ting Peng. Stockholm IF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fabrizio Canzano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabrizio Canzano in the 85th minute of play forced Stockholm IF's goalkeeper Qin Ting Peng to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 93rd match minute, Villa Gordiani was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Philippe Albert to maneuver through the defense. Iker Casillas acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 93rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Krzysztof Bobrowski. 96 minutes into the match, Franco Cacciatore had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Qin Ting Peng. Stockholm IF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Franco Cacciatore was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Villa Gordiani were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
