The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rosario Martel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rosario Martel blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gheorghe Baldovin having to make a save. Gheorghe Baldovin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rosario Martel in the 12th minute of the match. 19 minutes into the match, Programayin's goalkeeper Hans-Jürgen Pötscher had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leonard Aanuţei. After some careless play in the FC Buzău defense, Rosario Martel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gheorghe Baldovin. The FC Buzău fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gheorghe Baldovin should have stopped the shot. Gheorghe Baldovin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rosario Martel, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. The supporters of Programayin booed when FC Buzău was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vintilă Stoicea didn't get a good kick on the ball. 28 minutes into the match, FC Buzău's goal looked a bit too open when Rosario Martel came free, but Gheorghe Baldovin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half Programayin were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Gheorghe Baldovin made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Hamza Emin sent off a good shot on target. Conrado Guter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute.
