TunaFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Joop Mesmaeckers was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. 17 minutes into the game, All Stars Gent's Michael Cuelens nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Volkan Demirel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Volkan Demirel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Joop Mesmaeckers in the 25th minute. In the 28th minute Deivid De Souza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eser Şemsi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. TunaFC's Volkan Demirel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joop Mesmaeckers in the 29th minute of play. Michael Cuelens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 33rd minute Uche Okechukwu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eser Şemsi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. TunaFC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Oğuzalp Orkutay in the 37th minute. The corner led TunaFC's Oğuzalp Orkutay to fire away a dangerous shot which Eser Şemsi despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Joop Mesmaeckers's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 46thth minute, Volkan Demirel skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joop Mesmaeckers to make the kick off. The supporters of TunaFC booed when All Stars Gent was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Didier Beekman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Volkan Demirel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joop Mesmaeckers in the 52nd minute of play. Eser Şemsi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Deivid De Souza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jannes Gramet kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. 63 minutes into the match, TunaFC's goal looked a bit too open when Joop Mesmaeckers came free, but Volkan Demirel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joop Mesmaeckers in the 67th minute of play forced TunaFC's goalkeeper Volkan Demirel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Joop Mesmaeckers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 71 minutes, Uche Okechukwu took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Eser Şemsi to make any attempt to save it. Eser Şemsi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Min Alacuart, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the TunaFC defense, Joop Mesmaeckers kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Volkan Demirel. The TunaFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Volkan Demirel should have stopped the shot. 83 minutes into the match, Joop Mesmaeckers had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Volkan Demirel. Volkan Demirel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christiaan Elsen, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. 91 minutes into the match, TunaFC's Min Alacuart sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eser Şemsi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. TunaFC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Oğuzalp Orkutay in the 93rd minute. A nice corner shot did that Oğuzalp Orkutay got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Eser Şemsi quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The All Stars Gent fans' excitement grew in the 96th match minute when All Stars Gent's Joop Mesmaeckers looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene.
