Redbull Sala's Thomas Falkrantz quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 14 minutes into the game, Steffen Gimlinge cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. David Lundgren was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 23 minutes into the match, Club Universidad Nacional's Steffen Gimlinge sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that David Lundgren narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Steffen Gimlinge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 25 minutes into the match, Redbull Sala's goal looked a bit too open when Steffen Gimlinge came free, but David Lundgren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Steffen Gimlinge might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over David Lundgren. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Steffen Gimlinge ran back to his position shaking his head. 27 minutes into the match, Redbull Sala's goal looked a bit too open when Steffen Gimlinge came free, but David Lundgren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. David Lundgren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Steffen Gimlinge, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Redbull Sala booed when Club Universidad Nacional was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Inocencio Paublo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 31st match minute, Club Universidad Nacional was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Karel Šnajdr to maneuver through the defense. If Thomas Falkrantz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Redbull Sala's David Lundgren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Steffen Gimlinge in the 34th minute of play. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Redbull Sala's goalie and right to Wladimir Herrera. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Redbull Sala's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Thomas Falkrantz kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. In the 43rd minute, Steffen Gimlinge made a precise shot to the right of David Lundgren. Redbull Sala's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. After the first half Club Universidad Nacional were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carlos Alberto Bezerra made a kick off. Steffen Gimlinge fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Lundgren having to interfere. In the 54th minute Steffen Gimlinge shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Lundgren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Redbull Sala's David Lundgren proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Redbull Sala from getting a goal against them. 60 minutes into the game, Club Universidad Nacional's Steffen Gimlinge nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. David Lundgren made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Club Universidad Nacional made a substitution. Feliciano Frans replaced Steffen Gimlinge. Feliciano Frans who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 68thth minute tested the skills of David Lundgren when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Eustaquio Mede managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Universidad Nacional's supporters rose to their feet, but Eustaquio Mede was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. David Lundgren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alphan Alpaslan kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. David Lundgren was out of position in the 75 minute of play, and Feliciano Frans capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Feliciano Frans really showed his touch with that goal: 0-5.
