An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Henrico in the 3rd minute of play forced Wolverhampton's goalkeeper Folke Björkdal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Folke Björkdal didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luis Henrico went, in the 6th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 12 minutes into the game, Nouvelle Vague's Luis Henrico nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Folke Björkdal made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Folke Björkdal didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luis Henrico went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. The Nouvelle Vague fans' excitement grew in the 19th match minute when Nouvelle Vague's Luis Henrico looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. A collision led to Nouvelle Vague getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Cayetano Cordaro hit a great ball. Folke Björkdal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Henrico, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Folke Björkdal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Henrico in the 35th minute of play. Wolverhampton were furious when Åke Söderqwist was red carded, 36 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Wolverhampton fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 36th minute. Penalty! Inocencio Felipo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Guillermo Granäng in the 42nd minute. 44 minutes into the match, Wolverhampton's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Henrico came free, but Folke Björkdal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Wolverhampton booed when Nouvelle Vague was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Delmiro Emeterio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sotiris Koupepes to make the kick off. Librado Pamperin kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Wolverhampton's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Luis Henrico 55 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-6. Wolverhampton's Sven-Ove Askestät was substituted for Patrik Lingren. Nouvelle Vague's Casimiro Ugutz was substituted for Luis Henrico. In the 60th minute, Casimiro Ugutz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Folke Björkdal was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-7. Folke Björkdal made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Casimiro Ugutz sent off a good shot on target. Casimiro Ugutz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Folke Björkdal made a huge save. Folke Björkdal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Casimiro Ugutz, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Folke Björkdal came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Nouvelle Vague's Casimiro Ugutz. But to his dismay, Casimiro Ugutz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-11. When the final whistle sounded Nouvelle Vague left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Wolverhampton.
