The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to The Waldos getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Lázaro Bonadona hit a great ball. Válbson Sarmento made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Prudencio Isias in the 4th minute of play. Válbson Sarmento showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Prudencio Isias, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. After 11 minutes of play, Maragassume AD - CIMZ's Ben Spierenburg made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. David Dewulf was left in no man's land by his defense there! Darío Pereyra hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. In the 15th minute Aníbal Amaral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Dewulf saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Maragassume AD - CIMZ's Válbson Sarmento got control of the ball when Alvaro Pagomari tried to sneak it across the goal line. 18 minutes into the game, The Waldos's Alvaro Pagomari nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Válbson Sarmento made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. David Dewulf took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronaldão Sanches, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice moves Marin Ştefănescu could shoot a difficult shot in the 24th minute, which Válbson Sarmento however easily saved by the left post. The supporters of Maragassume AD - CIMZ booed when The Waldos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agustin Distiratsu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Válbson Sarmento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marin Ştefănescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 35 minutes had been played when some careless play by Maragassume AD - CIMZ's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jann Bavneby was slow to take the kick. During this time The Waldos's players had a chance to rest. Maragassume AD - CIMZ's Fernandão Cearense was substituted for Aníbal Amaral. After 37 played minutes The Waldos got a freekick which was hit by Agustin Distiratsu. Prudencio Isias could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Válbson Sarmento made a huge save. Válbson Sarmento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Prudencio Isias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 47 minutes into the match, Ben Spierenburg notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of The Waldos's David Dewulf. David Dewulf was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The Waldos were awarded a corner in the 53th minute after Maragassume AD - CIMZ's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jann Bavneby took the corner. 56 minutes into the match, Maragassume AD - CIMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Marin Ştefănescu came free, but Válbson Sarmento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Maragassume AD - CIMZ's Válbson Sarmento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marin Ştefănescu in the 56th minute of play. In the 60th minute Ben Spierenburg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Dewulf saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Maragassume AD - CIMZ were awarded a corner in the 61th minute after The Waldos's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Remo de Almeida took the corner. If Prudencio Isias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Waldos's Justo Martino was substituted for Fidel Erdiano. When the match had gone on for 68 minutes, Ronaldão Sanches took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for David Dewulf to make any attempt to save it. In the 72nd minute Alvaro Pagomari shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Válbson Sarmento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Marin Ştefănescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Waldos's Leandro Millrick was substituted for Alvaro Pagomari. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronaldão Sanches in the 80th minute of play forced The Waldos's goalkeeper David Dewulf to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 84th minute Prudencio Isias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Válbson Sarmento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leandro Millrick in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Válbson Sarmento prevented the ball from getting in the gole. David Dewulf made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldão Sanches in the 96th minute of play. Maragassume AD - CIMZ were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over The Waldos's much stronger midfield.
