Downchester City's Fumo Canuto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eugen Mantoiu in the 13th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Jose Heredia kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dennis Lindberg. That made the score 1-1 in the 15 minute of play. Downchester City's Fumo Canuto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Özgün Hatip in the 29th minute of play. Dennis Lindberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jose Heredia in the 30th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Özgün Hatip in the 33rd minute of play forced Downchester City's goalkeeper Fumo Canuto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Galapagos Islands FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Niklas Möller in the 35th minute. The corner ended in Niklas Möller almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Downchester City's Fumo Canuto did a great save. With a little luck, Galapagos Islands FC's Dennis Lindberg got control of the ball when Jose Heredia tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Galapagos Islands FC getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Özgün Hatip hit a great ball. In the 45th minute Jose Heredia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dennis Lindberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jose Heredia stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dennis Lindberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jose Heredia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Jose Heredia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Downchester City booed when Galapagos Islands FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frankie Flambard didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dennis Lindberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Etxahun Rienda, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Etxahun Rienda in the 90th minute of play forced Galapagos Islands FC's goalkeeper Dennis Lindberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
