The Team Calamity SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pars Gazzali should have stopped the shot. Cusco FC's Marcelo Quexada played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hüsrev Akyazı in the 12th minute of play. When Sarper Regaip fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Team Calamity SC's protests and gave Sarper Regaip a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Cusco FC booed when Team Calamity SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sarper Regaip didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 41 minutes, Carlos Zambrano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cusco FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Zambrano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Cusco FC's Maria Coronado got a free kick in the 44th minute. After the first half Cusco FC were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Benino Maria made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Şamil Hür in the 76th minute of play forced Cusco FC's goalkeeper Marcelo Quexada to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Elorri Uruñuela recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The throw-in from Ryszard Gomolka in the 90th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Cusco FC's Maria Coronado. 91 minutes into the match, Team Calamity SC's goal looked a bit too open when Gabon Salantes came free, but Pars Gazzali reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Cusco FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Cusco FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
