The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Brazilio Butt made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Qu Wei sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, DIF LEEDS BK's Brazilio Butt got control of the ball when Alexsandro de Carvalho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ulf Nordlander kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Qu Wei could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Brazilio Butt made a huge save. When Proteu's 毛明昆 in the 11th minute got a chance for a shot 11th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye DIF LEEDS BK's goalie prevented a goal. 17 minutes into the game, DIF LEEDS BK's Östen Hedin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Edvin van der Sar made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Proteu's Edvin van der Sar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tanek Bobrowski in the 27th minute of play. After some careless play in the Proteu defense, Tanek Bobrowski kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edvin van der Sar. The Proteu fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edvin van der Sar should have stopped the shot. Qu Wei in the 33rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Brazilio Butt, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Edvin van der Sar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ulf Nordlander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 41 minutes into the game, one of DIF LEEDS BK:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silviu Novac in the 46th minute of play forced Proteu's goalkeeper Edvin van der Sar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

A collision led to Proteu getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Arthur Meireles hit a great ball. Proteu's Edvin van der Sar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Proteu from getting a goal against them. In the 62nd minute Ulf Nordlander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edvin van der Sar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 65 minutes of play, DIF LEEDS BK's Silviu Novac made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Edvin van der Sar was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 68th match minute, DIF LEEDS BK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ni Kun Jian to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Qu Wei in the 70th minute of play forced DIF LEEDS BK's goalkeeper Brazilio Butt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Brazilio Butt came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Proteu's Qu Wei. But to his dismay, Qu Wei quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-4. Proteu's Edvin van der Sar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Proteu from getting a goal against them. The supporters of DIF LEEDS BK booed when Proteu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arthur Meireles didn't get a good kick on the ball. DIF LEEDS BK made a substitution. Ernst Dahlquist replaced Ulf Nordlander. Edvin van der Sar was out of position in the 97 minute of play, and Ernst Dahlquist capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ernst Dahlquist really showed his touch with that goal: 2-5. When the final whistle sounded DIF LEEDS BK left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Proteu.
