In the 15th match minute, Stade Ygossais was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Martial Jay to maneuver through the defense. Martial Jay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juvenal Sergipano having to interfere. 24 minutes into the match, Stade Ygossais's goal looked a bit too open when Amado Froila came free, but Fabrice Caillot reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Célio Fontes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Fabrice Caillot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Martial Jay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 37 minutes into the match, CUITEENSE FUTEBOL CLUBE's goal looked a bit too open when Martial Jay came free, but Juvenal Sergipano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Célio Fontes got free with Fabrice Caillot in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 40th minute, Martial Jay ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Juvenal Sergipano was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. In the 43rd minute Martial Jay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juvenal Sergipano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Lobo Zornoza blasted a shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fabrice Caillot having to make a save. Fabrice Caillot showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lobo Zornoza in the 52nd minute of the match.
