Sebastião Xoxe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antonio Alzamendi in the 29th minute of play. If Adolfo Gipuzkoa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 34th minute Pogoń Szczecin were awarded a corner. Conrado Donzel went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 38th minute, Norbert Major left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pogoń Szczecin fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. In the 45th minute of the match, Darko Pančev tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Phillip Glerum saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Pogoń Szczecin's Norbert Major got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Norbert Major to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Pogoń Szczecin's goal looked a bit too open when Adolfo Gipuzkoa came free, but Sebastião Xoxe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Peter-Jan De Brouwer struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Sebastião Xoxe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Saco FC. 75 minutes into the match, Norbert Major had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Phillip Glerum. Saco FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Norbert Major was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Arrigo Rossi kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. 84 minutes into the match, Saco FC's goal looked a bit too open when Norbert Major came free, but Phillip Glerum reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Phillip Glerum didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Norbert Major went, in the 84th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. After 87 played minutes Pogoń Szczecin got a freekick which was hit by Dariusz Harbaszewski. After a rather tough play, Pogoń Szczecin's Cezary Jarocewicz got a free kick in the 89th minute. If Norbert Major had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. For all the effort they put into the match, the Saco FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Pogoń Szczecin.
