After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Edson Faria managed to get in a good position for a shot. América-SC F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Edson Faria was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hong Ballard breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the last second Hong Ballard throw himself and got hold of the ball when Resul Erdemalp in the 6thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. The América-SC F.C. fans' excitement grew in the 13th match minute when América-SC F.C.'s Resul Erdemalp looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When the match had gone on for 15 minutes, Edson Faria took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Hong Ballard to make any attempt to save it. Nestor Quirino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Renaldo Yost, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 21 minutes had been played when some careless play by Fly T.T's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Edson Faria was slow to take the kick. During this time América-SC F.C.'s players had a chance to rest. After some careless play in the América-SC F.C. defense, Bertrand Glass kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nestor Quirino. The América-SC F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nestor Quirino should have stopped the shot. In the 26th minute, Curt Weyermann hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Guga Simão came free with the goalkeeper in the 27th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Hong Ballard could save by the left post. 31 minutes into the match, América-SC F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Bertrand Glass came free, but Nestor Quirino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 33 minutes into the match, América-SC F.C.'s Resul Erdemalp sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hong Ballard narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Resul Erdemalp who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 40thth minute tested the skills of Hong Ballard when he managed to save the team from getting behind. América-SC F.C.'s Resul Erdemalp was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 43rd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bertrand Glass was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Vadim Shiryaev had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nestor Quirino. América-SC F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vadim Shiryaev was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-2. Nestor Quirino made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bertrand Glass in the 54th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Resul Erdemalp in the 55th minute of play forced Fly T.T's goalkeeper Hong Ballard to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 56th minute of the match América-SC F.C. got a corner. Fly T.T's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Edson Faria ran over to the corner to take the kick. After a rather tough play, Fly T.T's Pastor Vergaray got a free kick in the 57th minute. After 58 played minutes, América-SC F.C.'s Edson Faria shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Hong Ballard came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in América-SC F.C. reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucas Arce in the 64th minute of play forced Fly T.T's goalkeeper Hong Ballard to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 65thth minute of the game Resul Erdemalp who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fly T.T's Hong Ballard was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. América-SC F.C. made a substitution. Gabi Gol replaced Resul Erdemalp. América-SC F.C.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Edson Faria in the 68th minute. Jerônimo Pimenta made a great header on América-SC F.C.'s corner, it was just that Fly T.T's Hong Ballard managed to reach the ball for a save. Hong Ballard made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabi Gol in the 72nd minute of play. Hong Ballard made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucas Arce in the 73rd minute of play. Gabi Gol blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hong Ballard having to make a save. Nestor Quirino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pastor Vergaray in the 87th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gabi Gol in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hong Ballard saved Fly T.T from getting behind. In the 91st minute, Gabi Gol left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The América-SC F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-2. Hong Ballard came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by América-SC F.C.'s Gabi Gol. But to his dismay, Gabi Gol quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-2. América-SC F.C.'s fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
