The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute, Brakkies New Bastards's Robben Kints dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Onur Candar charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Onur Candar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 10 played minutes Pombal 2003 F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Onur Candar. Freddy de Cijser sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Kirk Powderham succeeded in the game's 13th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-0. In the 20th minute, Daniel Reijniers got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gilson Arósio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kirk Powderham in the 23rd minute of the match. Kirk Powderham's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gilson Arósio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. After having played for 25 minutes, Kirk Powderham managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brakkies New Bastards's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kirk Powderham was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pombal 2003 F.C.'s Gilson Arósio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kirk Powderham in the 27th minute of play. When Hermínio Moraes fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pombal 2003 F.C.'s protests and gave Hermínio Moraes a yellow card for diving instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Brakkies New Bastards's Robben Kints slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gilson Arósio. That made the score 3-0 after 29 minutes of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Kirk Powderham managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brakkies New Bastards's supporters rose to their feet, but Kirk Powderham was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gilson Arósio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Di Yuan Liang took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nico Van Meerbek. Nico Van Meerbek dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. After a rather tough play, Pombal 2003 F.C.'s Kauã Lago got a free kick in the 40th minute. Brakkies New Bastards's Robben Kints got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Di Yuan Liang took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nico Van Meerbek. Nico Van Meerbek dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. 46 minutes into the game, Brakkies New Bastards's Lucio Oto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gilson Arósio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-2. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-2. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 52nd minute, Kirk Powderham ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gilson Arósio was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-2. Gilson Arósio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kirk Powderham, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Nico Van Meerbek made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kauã Lago in the 62nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kirk Powderham in the 67th minute of play forced Pombal 2003 F.C.'s goalkeeper Gilson Arósio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Onur Candar hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Gilson Arósio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kirk Powderham's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. After a rather tough play, Pombal 2003 F.C.'s Murdock Sinden got a free kick in the 84th minute. If Daniel Reijniers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 86 minutes into the game, Brakkies New Bastards's Kirk Powderham nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gilson Arósio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-2. 90 minutes into the game, Kirk Powderham cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 9-2. Gilson Arósio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
