The excitement rose when Trabzonspor's Lucio Claus after 7 played minutes turned away three defenders near the goal, and after that shot a ball that was too difficult for Jovens Democratas MZC's goalkeeper to hold. Score! 0-1. When Laerte Bittencourt fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jovens Democratas MZC's protests and gave Laerte Bittencourt a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Trabzonspor booed when Jovens Democratas MZC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laerte Bittencourt didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 12th minute, Alejo Otsando ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dalmo Saldanha was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Yunus Civan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ruy de Brito, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice moves Ruy de Brito could shoot a difficult shot in the 17th minute, which Yunus Civan however easily saved by the left post. 19 minutes into the match, Jovens Democratas MZC's goal looked a bit too open when Alejo Otsando came free, but Dalmo Saldanha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Chico de Sousa could shoot a difficult shot in the 21st minute, which Yunus Civan however easily saved by the left post. Dalmo Saldanha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guter Acosta, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Laerte Bittencourt made in the 28th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Elano Loureiro immediately put the ball in play. In the 29th minute, Leonardo Guerra reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Yunus Civan. The goal made the score 1-2. A sloppy throw-in by Laerte Bittencourt in the 37th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Trabzonspor's Kutluay Özcan. Trabzonspor's Yunus Civan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chico de Sousa in the 42nd minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alejo Otsando to strike the kick off in the second half. Dalmo Saldanha made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alejo Otsando in the 52nd minute. Laerte Bittencourt hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Laerte Bittencourt got his second yellow card in the match during the 61st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After a rather tough play, Jovens Democratas MZC's Chico de Sousa got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Chico de Sousa kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. A collision led to Jovens Democratas MZC getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Chico de Sousa hit a great ball. Dalmo Saldanha made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kerem Erek in the 75th minute. After 81 played minutes Jovens Democratas MZC got a freekick which was hit by Ruy de Brito. Ruy de Brito hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Chico de Sousa was shown his second yellow card after 85 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Chico de Sousa kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. 86 minutes into the game, Kerem Erek recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Dalmo Saldanha. Kerem Erek showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-3. Jovens Democratas MZC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 91st minute, when Kerem Erek scored to the left of an out of position Dalmo Saldanha, making the score, 2-4. After having played for 95 minutes, Kerem Erek managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Trabzonspor's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kerem Erek was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Trabzonspor eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
