An unexpectedly hard shot by Chu Yun Lei in the 8th minute of play forced Sanderlend's goalkeeper Sverker Fanström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 11th minute, Babbis Aggeliadis made a precise shot to the right of Jardel Reis. Catadão's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. In the 14th match minute, Catadão was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jeremias Andrade to maneuver through the defense. Sverker Fanström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeremias Andrade, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Sverker Fanström came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Catadão's Chu Yun Lei. But to his dismay, Chu Yun Lei quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. After 39 minutes of play, Sanderlend's Babbis Aggeliadis made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jardel Reis was left in no man's land by his defense there! 42 minutes in the game Oswaldo do Vale did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Álvaro Godoi. 44 minutes into the game, Jeremias Andrade cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Sverker Fanström was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Sanderlend fans cheered their team off the field, for while Catadão had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
