But to his dismay, Fernando Gomes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcinho de Toledo in the 24th minute of play forced United 11 FC's goalkeeper Michel Biörnberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 28th minute of the match, Aquiles Tróia got a very nice opportunity to score, but Inge Marin was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After 34 played minutes United 11 FC got a freekick which was hit by Stig Mellberg. 36 minutes had been played when some careless play by United 11 FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Uwe Reimann was slow to take the kick. During this time OLIMPIA SP's players had a chance to rest. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernando Gomes in the 41st minute of play forced United 11 FC's goalkeeper Michel Biörnberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 42nd minute Şerif Kutlualp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Inge Marin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to United 11 FC getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Lars Runeberg hit a great ball. United 11 FC's Michel Biörnberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernando Gomes in the 44th minute of play. After 46 played minutes OLIMPIA SP got a freekick which was hit by Uwe Reimann. After the first half OLIMPIA SP were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Inge Marin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Şerif Kutlualp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Michel Biörnberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernando Gomes, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Marcinho de Toledo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Michel Biörnberg made a huge save. Inge Marin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aquiles Tróia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Inge Marin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Şerif Kutlualp in the 73rd minute of the match. Uwe Reimann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Uwe Reimann's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Michel Biörnberg firmly grabbed it by the left post. Aquiles Tróia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Inge Marin having to interfere. The supporters of OLIMPIA SP booed when United 11 FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tobias Landin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Inge Marin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silvio Ham in the 85th minute of the match. Samuca Travassos hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, OLIMPIA SP's Fernando Gomes got a free kick in the 88th minute. Inge Marin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Şerif Kutlualp, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Michel Biörnberg came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by OLIMPIA SP's Fernando Gomes. But to his dismay, Fernando Gomes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. OLIMPIA SP had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
